Inspiration #10

I love online shopping. Even online browsing is appealing to me. I get lost for hours on the internet, finding things that are ridiculously over priced that I wished were mine. I was on anthropologie website the other day, and I stumbled across the "Artist Stories" page. It's actually very interesting, and I suggest if you have some time to kill or are just simply interested, to go over there and check the page out.

I apologize for the lack of posts. I've had a very hectic week or so. I finally got wifi for my apartment, and then we were robbed, ew. Thankfully, my roommate and I were not home at the time, but the robber did manage to take some of our very most valuable possessions. Life goes on, and all that matters is that we are okay. Although items can be very expensive, they are still replaceable!

Have a good weekend!

Inspiration #9

Guess who has wifi......
Okay, if you didn't guess, I do. We can still be friends if you didn't guess right though... anyways..

My inspiration today is simply, this house. Not only are these images beautifully taken, but the house is a masterpiece in itself! It could seem as if there is just a bunch of clutter everywhere, but I feel that the decorator placed every little thing in this house perfectly. Ugh. This is too good.
This house reminds me of an antique store, except for a really organized antique store. So many treasures to find and so many things to see.

A "safari expedition" feel anyone?

You know how I just moved into my apartment not too long ago? Well, I'm moving into this house, right now, and forcing the home owner to keep every item the way it is and leave it all for me to have and enjoy. I haven't told them this yet though. I'm sure it'll go over just fine when I show up at their door and let them know what's going on.

Fall Fun

I'm currently sitting at Starbucks. I wish I could tell you I'm sitting here enjoying my 20oz pumpkin spiced latte, but I can't. I already drank it. Every last sip. Ugh.
Today is the "perfect" weather day for me. About 63 degrees, sunny and also windy. I don't mind the wind, just because it gives me hope that fall is around the corner. Although, this wind would be better if I wasn't sitting outside, in my gym shorts. This weather may be my "perfect" weather, but I'm freezing my butt off. But I chose to sit outside, so I'm done complaining.

If I may direct your eyes to the top of this post, you will see a lovely collage of pictures. I'd like to call it my "fall fun" collage (plus the birkenstocks that i'm dying to own, so I guess sort of a wish list too).

I never crave pumpkin, but tell me it's fall season, and I'm finding every opportunity to have pumpkins surrounding me. Pumpkin candles, drinks, treats, pumpkins in general, it's a little sad. Cool advertising world, you've really hooked me onto the idea of, "Once it's fall, everyone HAS to be in love with pumpkin." All I can tell you is that they're winning.

I promise I'll get wifi soon, and then I can post awesome things all of the time.

Inspiration #8 (OUR FALLEN HEROS)

Today, being 9/11/2011, is the 10th anniversary of the attacks. This post is dedicated to our fallen heroes and the families and friends affected by the tragic event that occurred on 9/11/2001.
Not only are fireplaces fun to have in your homes, they also can be hazardous. What would we do without our firemen and special forces?

Inspiration #7 (Going Green)

So, I've been busy. Really busy actually. I've been moving into my apartment. Whew, what a tiring process. Thankfully, I have some really great friends who took time out of their schedule to come help me move couches, mattresses, dressers, and a lot of more crap.

I really didn't think or process in my head, that moving would be sort of a lengthy process. I just sort of figured, wake up, put things in the car, and bling! Done. No Chandler, not one single bit. Somehow I must have let it slip my mind that I would be needing to move couches down a flight of stairs. How do you forget something like that? I don't know, but I sure did.
Today, I chose the inspiration to be, "Going Green".  Now this doesn't secretly insinuate that I'm some crazy lib or uptight republican. I'll just let that be unknown for now. This post is simply about incorporating green into your homes. I love the color green. I also enjoy green tea. The Hulk is pretty cool, and we can't forget about Yoda. And if I can, I try to recycle and conserve energy (another meaning of the term, "Going Green"). Get a little green in your life. It's awesome.

Hopefully I'll talk to you all soon, but if not, please know that we are working on getting internet in our apartment. And we are still waiting for our appliances too (yes, we don't have a fridge or an oven right now...).

Inspiration #5 (vs.)

So..
Two completely different bedroom styles.
Am I backwards? Can I not just stick with one style? Indecisiveness gets the best of me.
I just want to make it painfully clear how polar opposite some of my "likings" are.

and even...

See what I'm talking about? I guess I could just say I'm well rounded...

Inspiration #4

I think we need a little bit of kitchen inspiration. I love the kitchen.
Especially warm and welcoming ones. The ones with a lot of light and many different places to sit. The kitchen is where family can gather and prepare holiday meals, or just any meal in that case.
I also would have to say that the kitchen is my favorite room in a home, simply, because I love baking. Love it. Now I'm no professional, but doesn't mean I can't try and have fun! Kitchens usually smell good too. I like rooms that smell good (obviously).
Kitchen with a theme or without?

I think I really just enjoy white in every room. There is so much to do with white! It's like having a white canvas in front of you. You have options galore with how you will make your painting, so go crazy with it and make something you'll love! Decorating homes is just like painting a masterpiece. It is all yours and there is no going wrong.

So Very Vintage Saturday (Inspiration #3)

So I'm obsessed. Obsessed with vintage style. I can't help it! Every time I'm browsing the internet and stumble across vintage home decor photos, I MUST save on my desktop. See? Obsessed. How do I deal with this obsession? Dedicate saturdays as, "So Very Vintage Saturdays"!
I love this little area. The walls, being white, allows this area to have pictures that are all sorts of color. No theme needs to be followed and I love! I really enjoy how the table is white. If the table was black or even possibly brown, it would take away the shape and awesome oak color from the chairs. It would even possibly draw the eye away from the large, magnificent photos (which I love how they are hanging by clips! So creative).
White furniture : Allows decorations to be any colors/ helps the decorations pop/ draws the eye to that part of the room.
Old antique mirrors, and lots of them? My best friends.

Clutter room? Beautiful mess? I'd have to go with fun and flowing room that doesn't follow the rules. Just my type of room.

Inspiration #2

So I can't decide, do I want to live in the city or the suburbs? I'm conflicted! I love the busy feeling of being in the city. Everything around me always feels awake and alive. On the other hand, thinking of living in a nice cozy home surrounded by trees and green land, Mmmmm, that sounds great. What's your opinion?
Another thing I can't pick. Do I want a white kitchen, or a dark wood colored kitchen? What do I do!
I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions!
I do know one thing at least. This staircase is awesome, and no question about that.

Inspiration #1

Well lets see here. I move into my apartment in exactly two weeks. I already have four fairly large boxes in my room packed and ready to go. A little ambitious... yes. I've been collecting little random items here and there for this apartment. I'll make sure to make a before and after post to show everything. I just need to remember, two more weeks Chandler, stop packing boxes already.

I really love when a room follows no pattern. Everything is mismatched, but somehow still comes together to make a good looking room. Sometimes people attempt this and it looks like a complete mess. Crossing my fingers this doesn't happen to me.
Books, books, books, and more books. I love my books, and I love putting them on shelves. I guess technology is cool and all, but electronic books? Come on! How are we supposed to show off our awesome collection of books if it's on an electronic source? Okay.... maybe I do own a Kindle. Doesn't mean I still don't love my books!
