The Cats Meow

Ciara and I move into our apartment in two days. My car is already packed....
Anyways, I'm excited to set up my room. I have it all mapped out with where things are going to go and what it is going to look like. It's going to be "purfect".

I was out yesterday, looking for a lamp to go on my nightstand, and I stumbled across this cat clock. I wasn't in the greatest mood, but when I found this gem, it completely turned my mood right around. What is wrong with me. I'm a freak who loves cats. Great, alone and old cat lady, sure does look like my future.

I also got some cat magnets for the chalkboard and the refrigerator. Hopefully Ciara is okay with that (and even if she's not, they're still going up<3).

Positive:
I love my apartment, and it's very roomy

Negative:
No animals allowed. My heart is crushed.

Next time:
Make sure cats are allowed, so I can adopt my first child.

August Wish List

I'm always finding things that I would enjoy for myself. Every month I am going to dedicate one post to my "wish list". Obviously, it will change every month. So, if you're feeling a little spontaneous/generous/wasteful with your money, go ahead and get me something from my wish list. Or just look at it and agree with how great all of these things are. Either way, I'm satisfied.

(Thanks, I go by Katie, for the monthly wish list idea)

One : Polaroid camera from ebay
Two : "Upcycled storybook pages" lampshades by ecru
Three : Milkshake (Mmm) via How Sweet It Is
Four : Time and Lace Dress from Modcloth
Five : Fox art by Encore Prints
Six : Railroad Romance Heel from Modcloth

Hobbit Boots

These boots. Where do I even begin. First of all, I've seen this style of boot being worn around for the past two years or so. I saw a girl wearing them and immediately wanted them, to the point of stealing the pair she had off of her own feet. Joke. Ew sweaty feet, bad joke. Anyway, I stumbled across these little guys not too long ago at Urban Outfitters, and they were on sale (awesome). The only negative about these boots is that, they have the "hobbit" effect on me. I'm 5'7, and these make me appear to be 4'11. It's only because the boots hug my calves, which cause a mirage of midgetness. Oh well. I like people who are short anyway.
Or maybe I am just short and I'm in denial..
I am not perfect, and I will be the first one to admit to that.
 A. My hair looks like a birds nest
B. Looks like my three year old niece painted my nails/ or I closed my eyes and painted them while walking
C. Wrinkly fingers = Ew
But I still love myself and my imperfections. No ones perfect, so use your flaws to make yourself more unique and memorable (in a good way).

Outfit Details:

tank top - Urban Outfitters
watch - Macy's/ Sisters
nail polish - "Minted" by Revlon

Apples & Almond Butter

(Banana bread recipe in new baking book)
Today has been a pretty good day I'd have to say. I went on a run with my sister and her children. *If you are a mom and have had to push a child/ two children in a stroller while running up hills, I give you all of the credit in the world. Wow, it really was a tough workout.
I also got to see my brother today which was really nice. We went to the mall and picked out an outfit for his little girl that will be here at the end of November! I'm so excited to meet her. We also went to Half Price Book Store and I was able to find two new baking books.
Lately, I've been on an apple and almond butter eating craze (I eat almond butter rather than peanut butter for various reasons). I don't know what it is about the combination of the two, but I can't get enough. So of course, while I was browsing through my new baking books, I had a snack to go with it. Oh, and so did my nephew, Connley (the cutest boy ever).

Makeup Monday, yes.

I have to say, when it comes to makeup, I lack thereof. I'm that girl that roles out of bed, washes my face, and is ready for the day. Why don't I put make up on? Pure laziness. Come on Chandler, really? Yes, laziness. Sounds pretty ridiculous, but it's only true. So, I have dedicated mondays to my designated "makeup days".  I think I can try at least one day of the week!
Lets have at it shall we? Everyone, I give you the, "Not too shabby" look.
Not too shabby : Natural look, but not too natural that you can't even tell there is makeup on you (fail).

How to acquire the, "Not too shabby":
1. Smashbox Primer
2. MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer
3. MAC Foundation
4. MAC Eyeshadow
5. Bare Essentials Mascara
6. Sephora Lipstick/Lipliner
(someones a MAC fan..)

1. Primer : Apply all over the face! Gives the face a nice shine for photos
2. Concealer : Use under the eyes to get those bags hidden. Also use on any blemishes to get the flawless look that no one really has naturally.
3. Foundation : Apply all over the face and under the neck(not too far down the neck). Blends everything together!
4. Eyeshadow : Okay, so I use eyeshadow for eyeshadow and eyeliner (saves money)! Line the top of your eyelids with eyeliner pencil and eyeshadow. I stay away from lining under, it tends to smudge.
5. Mascara : Coat bottom and top eyelashes to get the long lash and popping effect!
6. Lipstick/liner : I chose to use a light pink color for the "Not too shabby" look. It works with my skin and keeps my look natural!

(Thanks Keiko Lynn for the MM idea!)
